Shelter dog scared of everything finally learns to love again thanks to care-filled encouragement of his fur family, ending months of physical fear filled misery for pup: ‘The dog who kept 3 feet distance, now can’t be more than 3 inches away.’

When we go to adopt a doggo from the shelter the last thing we think about is what we would do if the dog does not find itself comfortable in our home. It is a hiccup that has sent so many dogs back to the shelter, as though they were meant to be a pawfect fit from the get go. But true dog lovers know that once you commit to a doggo it is on you to make things work to the best of your abilities. That is what one family did after taking their pupper home only to find out it was locked in fear.

Now, this was a serious issue, it was the kind of keeping 3 feet distance, going potty in the corner of the room and generally acting as though something was constantly out to get him. The poor pup had no idea how to handle the space and comfort of the home he was in. That is just how bad his previous home was. He did not know he could ask to go outside, he didn't know he could ask for love, and he most certainly did not know that letting his hoomans be close to him would be in his best interest.

Thankfully, this family was not about to give up on this pupper and with some support from the shelter he came from they hatched a plan and put it in place. Suffice it to say it worked and worked well. Within a week this pupper managed to shake off the horrors it had lived with for so long and learn to love again.
